Radhika secure semi-final berth

LAITPUR: Radhika Secondary School of Morang became the first team to qualify for the semi-finals of the Coca-Cola Cup Inter-school National Football Tournament defeating RIBS of Kathmandu 1-0 here today.

In the Group ‘D’ meeting today, Radhika registered their second consecutive win to oust RIBS and Shanti Nikunja School. Alun Lingden scored the decider in the 78th minute.

In Group ‘A’, Birendra Sainik Awasiya Mahavidhyalaya hammered Dreamland English Medium

High School of Banke 15-0. Anup Subedi alone

scored eight goals. Roshan Rai also completed a

hat-trick while Ujjwal Tiwari and Niraj Pudasaini added two goals each. With their second loss the Dreamland are effectively out of the tournament.

Thekraj School of Kailali beat Little Moon of Kathmandu 3-2 in the Group ‘B’ fixture. Janak Chaudhary, Bishnu Chaudhary and Krishna Chaudhary scored for Thekraj while Sujal Pradhan and Dinesh KC replied for Little Moon.

Likewise, Siddhartha Boarding School of Butwal were ousted from Group ‘C’ after being held to a 1-1 draw by Arunodaya of Kathmandu. Siddhartha had lost to Gandaki School of Pokhara a day before. Devendra Aryal gave Arunodaya the lead in the 43rd and Dipu Shakya leveled the scores for Siddharta late in the 72nd minute.
