Nepal No 1 pro Sukra Bahadur Rai and amateurs Kaji Thapmaden, Karna Bahadur Thapa and Kabi Thapa won the Surya Nepal Eastern Open Pro-Am title here at the Dharan Golf Club today.

Local pro Rai - who won the 54-hole Surya Nepal Eastern Open with a record score of 17-under 193 yesterday - earned 40 points and he was teamed up with Kaji Thapmaden (47), Karna Bahadur Thapa (43) and Kabi Thapa (41) for the winning total of 171 points.

Another local pro, Sabin Sapkota (37) and amateurs Arjun Sunwar (39), SP Bhim Dahal (39) and Gajendra Limbu (38) came second with the score of 153 points. Likewise, pro Sanjay Lama (37) and amateurs Suyash Pyakurel (38), Bharat Tamang (38) and Rabin Rai (38) finished third with the total score of 151 points.

Sumitra Limbu, who scored 38 points, won the best card award in women's section. Badri Rai and Rajesh Rai grabbed the longest drive and closest-to-thepin awards respectively. In all, 67 golfers -14 pros and 53 amateurs - took part in the Pro-Am event played under the stableford full handicap format.

Brand Manager Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd Bidur Raj Adhikari, PGA Nepal President Rabindra Man Shrestha, Former IGP of Armed Police Force Shailendra Shrestha and Dharan Golf Club Executive Committee Member Jag Mohan Rai handed over the prizes to the winners.
