LALITPUR: Mira Rai and Dinesh Maharjan won the gold medals in second Godavari Running Festival here on Saturday.

Rai, the stat trail runner who has already earned fame in international arena, completed the 20-km race in two hours and 30 minutes to win the women’s section title ahead of Sakshi Rai and Sasa Pradhan.

In the men’s section, Maharjan of Lalitpur won the title in two hours and four minutes, while Rajan Pradhan and Mane Tamang came second and third respectively.

The race began at Godavari and went through Bishankhu Narayan, Kot Danda and Chapakharka before culminating at Godavari, informed event coordinator Paresh Shrestha.
