Top Nepali pro Sukra Bahadur Rai carded one-under 69 in the second round of the Tata Steel PGTI Players Championship at the Tollygunge Club in Kolkata today.

Rai posted 36-hole score of three-under 137 to make the cut for the final two rounds of the tournament. He slipped six places down to share the 26th place with eight other golfers in the first event of the 2023 season of the Professional Golf Tour of India.

Rai, who earned PGTI Tour's full card for the second straight season last week, played even-par 36 on the front nine before carding one-under 33 on the latter half.

Starting the day from the 10th tee, Rai carded birdies on the 13th and 17th holes and dropped shots on the 15th and 18th holes.

After taking the turn, Rai faced a bogey on the third hole against birdies on the second and ninth.

He had carded two-under 68 in the opening round, which included six birdies.

Indian pros Harsh Gangwar and Sachin Baisoya shared the lead at 10-under 130. Gangwar carded six-under 64 to move seven places, while overnight leader Baisoya played 66. Aman Raj and Gaurav Pratap Singh were tied for third.

A total of 126 golfers are taking part in the 72-hole competition that carries a cash purse of INR 10 million.
