KATHMANDU: Top Nepali pro Sukra Bahadur Rai moved 10 places up after the third round of the Delhi-NCR Open at the Noida Golf Course on Thursday.
Rai played one-over 73 for the 45-hole total of two-over 180 and shared the 35th position with six Indian pros - Rishi Kumar, Dipankar Kaushal, Ajay Baisoya, Mukesh Kumar, Saptak Talwar and Arjun Sharma - in the INR 10 million event.
Starting the day from the 10th tee, Rai played two-over 38 on his front nine before carding one-under 35 on the latter half. Rai played two-over 38 in the nine-hole first round before carding one-under 71 in the second round to survive the cut at one-over.
Surya Nepal Masters champion in 2008, Shamim Khan carded four-under 68 to move four places up to the top of the leaderboard with the total score of eight-under 172, while fellow Indian pro Gaurav Pratap Singh (70) was one stroke behind at second. Sachin Baisoya (70), overnight leader Sudhir Sharma (74) and Honey Baisoya (73) shared the third position at six-under 174.
