KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 5

Suren Rana won the title of the seventh Laxmi Bank Open Golf Tournament here at the Gokarna Golf Club today.

Played under stableford 3/4 handicap format, Rana finished first on count back after he was tied on 40 points with Kishor Basnet. Rana scored 23 points on the back nine, while Basnet earned 20 and he finished as runner-up.

Lt Col Nischaya Jung Rayamajhi claimed the gross section title with 37 points. Gita Gurung won the women's category trophy with 30 points, while Mahendra Mainali was the winner in senior section with 36 points. Ang Dorjee Sherpa accumulated 37 points to finish first among the customers of Laxmi Bank.

Aaiesteena Tandan won the junior section title with 41 points. Wangchen Dhondup bagged the most birdies trophy, while Capt Norbu Sherpa and Mithun Rai claimed the longest drive and closest-to-the-pin awards respectively. No one could win the Hole-in-One prize of Hyundai Kona car and Hero Lectro F6i electric cycles.

A total of 113 golfers took part in the tournament. Chairman of Laxmi Bank Raman Nepal, CEO Ajay Bikram Shah, President of Gokarna Golf Club Suhrid Ghimire and Captain Joseph Nathan handed over the prizes to the winners of the event.
