Nepal  Sports Journalists Forum and Sahas Sports today signed the sponsorship  agreement for the Pulsar Sports Award slated for September 11 at  the Nepal Academy Hall.

NSJF President Mahesh Acharya and Sahas  Sports President and Managing Director Janak Neupane signed the  Memorandum of Understanding amidst a programme. As per the agreement, Sahas Sports will provide the NSJF with kits worth Rs 300,000.

The Award features eight categories —  Male, Female, Youth, Coach, People’s Choice, Para-athlete, Special and  Lifetime Achievement — and the nominees and winners will receive gift hampers from Sahas Sports. Also, Sahas Sports will provide the NSJF gears for tournaments. The winners in Male, Female, People’s Choice  and Coach will get a Bajaj NS160 motorbike each, while others will  receive Rs 50,000 each and gift hampers, informed NSJF General Secretary Prakash Timalsina.

Meanwhile, Sahas Sports MD Neupane thanked the NSJF for providing the opportunity to be a part of the Pulsar Sports Award. “The award is one of the biggest events in Nepal and I feel lucky to be associated with it. The event does not belong to a single association, the whole sports fraternity feels proud of it,” said Neupane. “I have been a part of this programme for a long time and we will work together in future as well,” he added.

NSJF President Acharya thanked all the stakeholders for making the Sports Award the biggest event in Nepali sports. “We had started the award with a total budget of Rs 25,000 in 2002 and it grew over the years with the support of corporate sector. It is the programme of whole sports fraternity and NSJF is just the organiser,” he added.

NSJF Vice-president Shreelochan Rajopadhyaya said no one had imagined that the award would become such a grand event. “At present, the event is Nepal’s biggest award and it will continue to be the best with the support of sponsors,” said Rajopadhyaya. Action Sports of Dish  Media Network, Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd, Ruslan Football, Avenues TV, THT  LIVE and Hotel Royal Singi are the other partners of the Award.
