African recruit Ruth nets double hat-trick in Waling's thumping victory over Chaudandigadhi

LALITPUR: Sabitra Bhandari scored a treble as Nepal APF Club defeated fellow departmental side Nepal Police Club 3-0, while Waling thrashed Chaudandigadhi 10-0 riding on double hat-trick from Metho Eludie Ruth in the Women's National League here today.

The national team start striker, Bhandari netted her third hat-trick to take her tally to 10 goals in four matches. APF maintained their winning streak to four matches and accumulate maximum 12 points to stay at the top of the table. NPC, meanwhile, faced their first defeat in the tournament and they have five points from four matches.

APF opened the scoring in the 32nd minute when Bhandari, who is popularly known as Samba in football fraternity, after she collected a pass from Anita KC. Bhandari doubled the tally in 56th minute following a pass from Saru Limbu before she combined with Anita KC to complete her hat-trick in 84th minute.

In another match at the ANFA Complex grounds, Waling's African recruit Metho Eludie Ruth dominated the show netting six goals alone against Chaudandigadhi. Ruth - who found the back of the nets in the seventh, ninth, 19th, 63rd, 71st and injury time - became the first player to score a double hat-trick in the tournament.

Samjhana Sharma struck twice for Waling, while Manamaya Damai and another foreign recruit Toutta Oranella Evanick Noelle netted one goal each. With their first victory of the tournament, Waling accumulated five points, whereas Chaudandigadhi are yet to open their accounts.
