Top flight outfit Satdobato Youth Club signed the sponsorship deal with Sagar Distillery Pvt Ltd for a year here today.

SYC President Kapil Rana Magar and Brand and Marketing Head of Sagar Distillery Ritik Shahi exchanged the memorandum of understanding amidst a programme.

Both the parties did not disclose the terms and amount of the deal but SYC General Secretary Sunil Bista said Sagar Distillery's Royal Blue would be the title sponsor of the club for a period of one year.

"We cannot run a club without the support of corporate sector and the association with Sagar Distillery is a huge boost for us in our bid to produce good results in the upcoming Martyrs Memorial A Division Leauge," said Rana Magar.

"It's very tough to survive in top flight in the absence of good amount of money. So, we are trying to initiate a separate plan to generate regular income to support the club," he added.

Rana Magar also said the club had prepared an estimated budget of Rs 20 million for this year's League, which is beginning at the Dasharath Stadium on Friday.

"We performed well in our first appearance last year and we finished fourth in the table. This year, we have planned to maintain the position and go even better," he added.

Sagar Distillery Brand and Marketing Head Ritik Shahi described the association as a memorable moment for their company.

"SYC is an emerging club in football and we are also new in the business. We got a massive response in our 6-7 months journey and we decided to give back to the society," he said.

"We chose football as it is all about emotion, and not just sport. We decided to go with SYC as we can relate with the club. Both us have done a lot of hard work to reach to this stage. And, we also wanted to contribute to the aspiring footballers who dream of making it to the national level some day," Shahi added.

Former national team skipper Anil Gurung thanked the sponsors for supporting the club.

"As a player, I am happy to share the stage with members of corporate sector who are willing to support club, football and players," said Gurung.

"The arrival of corporate sector in football will help in ensuring the future of players."
