Kathmandu, May 20 :

Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) is organising the fifth National Cricket Tournament from May 22-28 in Kathmandu.

In this connection, the CAN formed the main organising committee headed by vice-president Sriniwas Rana. Lakshman Prasad Bastola in the secretary and Diwakar Ghale is the coordinator of the committee.

The organisers have also drawn tie-sheet of the tournament with Region No 1, 4 and 5 in group ‘A’ while Region No 2, 3 and 6 are in group ‘B’. The tournament will be held in two venues — Tribhuvan University Stadium in Kirtipur and Birendra Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya in Bhakatpur.

Meanwhile, Region No 3 (Kathmandu), Region No 5 (Nepalgunj) and Region No 6 (Biatadi) announced their squads. Raju Basnyat will lead the Region No 3 squad with other member being Paras Khadka, Paresh Lohani, Sarad Vesawkar, Gyanendra Malla, Dipen Shrestha, Rom Shrestha, Niraj Basnet, Kalam Ali, Bantu Bataju, Sudip Sharma, Raj Shrestha, Kridartha Shakya and Avay Rana.

Samsung Jung Thapa is the coach and Amit Bir Pandey team manager.

Members of Region No 5 are Mahesh Chhetri (captain), Tajuddin Halwai, Rafiq Ansari, Anupam Singh, Deep Raj Shakya, Sahid Riza, Durga Sen, Miraj Waris, Sagar Sen, Nasir Ansari, Mohasin Hasan, Nabin Shahi, Sashi Ranjan Karna and Prafulla Rana. Bikram Shrestha is the coach and Madan Rawat the team manager.

The Baitadi squad include Dhirendra Chand (captain), Prem Chaudhary, Dhan Bahadur Chhetri, Shumsher Chand, Rajendra Bahadur Chand, Subhash Khattri, Nabin Chand, Naresh Buda Ayer, Chandra Saud, Binod Bhandari, Dinesh Agri, Rahul Chand, Padam KC and Jagadish Buda Ayer.
