Shah breaks record

KATHMANDU: Sofia Shah broke the national record in 200m freestyle at the 16th FINA World Championship in Kazan, Russia on Tuesday. Shah completed the distance in two minutes 18.93sec to break the record of Gaurika Singh of two minutes 19.72sec kept during the 20th National Open Swimming Championships. Shah finished at 60th position from 63 participants. Shah will now compete in 50m freestyle. Earlier Gaurika Singh bettered her own record in 100m backstroke.
