Singh wins Korean Ambassador’s Cup

Hrideshwar Kumar Singh won the Korean Ambassador’s Cup Golf Tournament organised by South Korean Embassy to Nepal here at Royal Nepal Golf Course today. Played at Stableford 3/4 Handicap Format, the son of RNGC president Siddheshwar Kumar Singh, scored 36 points and edged out Deep Bahadur Basnet by two strokes. The RNGC captain, who also won the longest drive award, finished the day with 34 points. Kalyani Moktan, who scored 33 points, won the ladies section title, while Eu Hazur Thapa came second with 27 points. Himalaya SJB Rana emerged victorious in the super senior section of the tournament.
Chuda Bahadur Bhandari won the most birdies award, while Maj Narendra Kumar Rai was the golfer closest to the pin. In all, 91 players — including 15 in ladies section and four in super senior section — took part in the annual event of the Korean Embassy. Meanwhile, Nepali team won the title in the Nepal-Korea friendly golf competition. In all, 10 groups each from both the teams took part in the team event and eight Nepali teams came first to Korea’s two teams. South Korean Ambassador to Nepal, Park Sang Hoon, gave away prizes to the winners of the one-day event.
