‘Special training for Asiad from mid-April'

National Sports Council Member Secretary Keshab Kumar Bista said the special closed camp training for the 18th Asian Games will start from mid-April.
Indonesia is hosting the 18th edition of the Asiad from August 18 to September 2 in Jakarta and Palembang.
Bista announced the training programme during the inauguration of the five-day long NSC High Level Sports Science and Planning Seminar that kicked off at the International Sports Complex today. “We will conduct the special closed camp training from mid-April after the conclusion of the ongoing training of the national teams,” said Bista.
Bista also said that the seminar would be focusing on scientific training of the players.
A total of 31 coaches of squash, archery, weightlifting, shooting, athletics, table tennis, swimming and badminton are participating in the seminar. Similarly, coaches of taekwondo, karate, judo, wrestling, boxing and wushu will participate in second phase of the seminar slated for March 26-30.
Course director Sushil Narshing Rana and Dr Gyanendra Shah are conducting the seminar.
