Swimmers to undergo training in Dhaka
KATHMANDU: A 12-member national swimming team today left for Bangladesh to prepare for the 11th South Asian Games.
Swimmers Shailesh Rana (50m and 100m breaststroke and freestyle), Pushpa Raj Shahi (50m and 100m backstroke), Shaila Rana (50m backstroke and freestyle), Bibidha Rimal (50m and 100m breaststroke), Prasiddha Jung Shah (50m and 100m freestyle), Nayana Shakya (50m breaststroke), Baninsensha Shrestha (50m and 100m breaststroke), Oshin Bharati (50m backstroke) and Karishma Karki (50m freestyle and 100m butterfly) left for Dhaka for foreign training.
The Nepali team will train at the swimming complex where the SA Games swimming events will be held. Chief swimming coach Ishwor Karki and assistant coach Shankar Dhami will be accompanying the team. Nepal Swimming Association General Secretary Ashok Bajracharya is the team manager. National Sports Council Member Secretary Hari Babu Chaudhary bade farewell to the team today.
