Three shooters meet qualifying score

Shooters Sneha Rajya Laxmi Rana, Asmita Rai and Phul Maya Kyapchhaki earned the Olympics qualifying scores in the Asian Olympic Qualifying Shooting Tournament in India.

The 2012 London Olympic Games participant, Rana was the best among the Nepali shooters in the 10m Air Rifle category of the January 29 to February 3 tournament in New Delhi. The Nepali shooters completed their rounds on the first day of the tournament.

Rana scored 405 points out of

436 points under the new scoring system. Rana also set the new national record in the process breaking the previous mark of 397.3 set by her in the Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea in 2014.

Rai scored 393.1 points, while Kyapchhaki accumulated 392, just meeting the qualifying score. Rana has been nominated as the Nepal’s flag bearer in the March-pass during the opening ceremony of the 12th South Asian Games slated for February 5-16 in Indian cities of Guwahati and Shillong.
