Three Star in last four

Nagendra Limbu scored two goals in last five minutes as Three Star Club of Kathmandu defeated Jhapa-XI 2-0 and entered the semi-finals of the Mahendra Gold Cup Football Tournament here today.

Three Star with its star players like Surendra Tamang, Santosh Shahukhal, Bal Gopal Maharjan and Nagendra Limbu, had to wait till 40th minute of the second half for its first goal of the match.

The match was pretty competitive. And, the relatively weak Jhapa-XI had pressurised Three Star Club, instead.

Limbu netted the first goal following a back pass from Surendra Tamang in the D-Box. Both defender and goalkeeper of Jhapa-XI were nicely defeated. Limbu doubled the tally following a cross from Bisan Gauchan.

Man of the match award was given to midfielder Nagendra Limbu of Three Star Club. Shanker Lal Agrawal, chairman of Morang Trade Association, gave away the award.

On Thursday, Three Star Club will take on Mahendra Police Club in the first semi-final match.
