LACM win opener

LALITPUR: Little Angels’ College of management (LACM) defeated KCM 5-2 in the inaugural match of the second LACM Inter-college Football Tournament here on Sunday. Utsav Shrestha struck four goals and Krishna Raj Rai added another for the winners, while Nishan Younjan and Amar Singh Basnet scored for KCM. Earlier, Niranjan Rajbanshi, president of Nepal Sports Journalists Forum, inaugurated the tournament. On Monday, CCRC will take on KU, while LACM play against ACE. — HNS

Raikkonen triumphs

SEPANG: Any doubts about Ferrari’s title hopes in 2008 were washed away on Sunday with Kimi Raikkonen’s spray of champagne. Raikkonen comfortably won the Malaysian Grand Prix, immediately injecting Ferrari back into the title race after the disappointment of the previous week’s flop in Australia where neither car finished. Raikkonen won by 20 seconds ahead of BMW Sauber’s Robert Kubica, with McLaren’s Heikki Kovalainen a further 19 seconds back in third. The only negative for Ferrari was the failure by pole-sitter Felipe Massa to finish. — AP
