U-13 Football Festival

KATHMANDU: The Nepali youth team won all the three matches at the AFC Under-13 Festival of Football 2007, which is being held in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The U-13 team defeated Maldives 7-0, beat Bhutan 2-0 and outplayed Turkmenistan 5-0, said ANFA in a release. Bikash Kunwar netted a hat-trick, while Samir Limbu scored two and Samip Shrestha and Hem Thapa got one goal each against Maldives. Ram Sharan Thapa and Sulav Maskey scored one goal each against Bhutan. Bikash Kunwar and Sulav Maskey struck two each and Samir Limbu netted one goal against Turkmenistan. — HNS

Struggle Committee

KATHMANDU: A meeting of ‘B’ Division Clubs formed a Struggle Committee under the convenorship of former FIFA Referee Mathura Ram Shrestha. The committee also include former players Lok Bahadur Shahi, Ganesh Pandey, Dinesh Shrestha, Raju Pulami, and Mukesh Shahi. Krishna Manandhar, president of United Club and Rabindra Joshi, president of Pulchowk Club, are also in the committee. The ‘B’ Division clubs have been demanding the dissolution of ANFA and fresh elections. — HNS
