TAC outplay Sankata

BIRGUNJ: George Prince Karki scored a brace as Tribhuvan Army Club defeated CMG Club Sankata 2-0 in the final of the first Bishal Memorial Gold Cup here at the Narayani Stadium on Saturday.

Karki opened the scoring in the 68th minute and doubled the tally two minutes later. TAC received Rs 500,000 along with the trophy, while Sankata earned Rs 250,000.

Raj Paudel of Sankata was named the best player of the tournament and received a motorcycle. TAC’s Bikesh Kuthu (goalkeeper), George Prince Karki (striker) and Nabin Neupane (coach) were declared the best individuals along with Sankata’s Peter Segun (defender) and Bikram Lama (midfielder). They earned Rs 10,000 each.

A total of eight teams took part in the tournament.
