KATHMANDU: Newcomers Church Boys United and Jawalakhel Youth Club recorded victories in the Martyrs Memorial A Division League here at the Dasharath Stadium on Tuesday.
Leaders United thumped Nepal APF Football Club 4-1. Defender Ananta Tamang scored a brace, while Mausham Subba and Aashish Chaudhary netted one each for United. Awas Lamichhane scored the consolation goal for APF.
In another match, Nkoto Synous Masoabi scored a brace in the second half as JYC beat Tribhuvan Army Football Club 2-0.
United accumulated 41 points from 23 matches and they are four points ahead of JYC (37).
Twotime defending champions Machhindra FC are third on 36 points from 22 matches, while TAFC remained at fifth place with 30 points, one behind Nepal Police Club.
APF are ninth on 29 points.
