KATHMANDU: Valley Public ‘A’ registered treble wins at the seventh TIA Cup Basketball Tournament here on Saturday.

In the girls’ section Valley Public ‘A’ defeated Mahendra Bhawan 31-15 with Samikchin Bista and Sudeshna KC scoring 14 points each while they thrashed hosts Tunggram International Academy (TIA) 22-8 riding on 10 points from Sujata Rai.

They later received a walkover win from Gillette School. In another match Valley Public ‘B’ saw off Manjari Boarding School 18-10.

In a one-sided match, Prithvi comprehensively defeated Anamol Jyoti 23-2 with Sakuntala Dhimal contributing 13 points.

Valley Public continued their dominance later in the day after their boys’ team eased past Manjari 45-24 and TIA 53-37. Bijaya Lama and Diwas Thebe netted 10 points each against Manjari while Rahul Maskey and Biraj Rana posted 22 points each against the hosts.

Likewise, Prithvi sneaked past Grand Academy 41-29 and TIA beat Anamol Jyoti 35-21.
