Yak Attack 2017, cycling competition kick-off from Besishahar in Lamjung

LAMJUNG: The 11th edition of Yak Attack 2017, an International Mountain Bike Race, started from Besishahar of Lamjung district, on Sunday.

It is the highest mountain bike race, held at an elevation of 5,416 above sea level, in the world.

A total of 31 competitors from various 10 countries including Nepal are competing in the race that will go through Thorong-La Pass, Muktinath, and Jomsom before concluding in Pokhara. The competition will run for 10 days.

Of the participants, eight Nepalis one woman and seven men are competing.

The winner will pocket 1250 US dollars, while the first runner up USD 750, and second runner up USD 500.

The competition is held every year in the Annapurna Circuit, the world's famous trekking trail.
