Youth Asia Cup: Nepal lose to India by six wickets

KATHMANDU: In their second loss in a row, Nepal on Friday lost to India in a match under the Youth Asia Cup held at the Colombo Cricket Club Ground in Sri Lanka.

The loss means that Nepal could not elevate to the second round of the regional youth tournament.

India had reached the target of 173 runs, losing 4 wickets, with 99 balls remaining.

For India, Shubhman Gill scored the highest of 57 runs.

Youth Asia Cup: Nepal post 173-run target to India

KATHMANDU: Nepal on Friday posted a 173-run target to India during the Youth Asia Cup being held at the Colombo Cricket Club Ground in Sri Lanka.

The Nepal youth team made 172 runs with a loss of nine wickets in the first innings after they won the toss and elected to bat first. This is Nepal's highest score against India ever.

For Nepal, Rohit Kumar Paudel had made the highest of 68 runs. He had made 24 runs in the single 50th over.

Likewise, Dipendra Singh Airee made 34 runs. He had made impressive 90 runs against the hosts Sri Lanka in the match played on Thursday. Nepal, however, had lost the match by one run.

India are the defending champions of the tournament.
