KATHMANDU: New Diamond School and Aruni School registered victories in the first PABSON U-18 National Volleyball Tournament here at the Dhorpatan Sports Training Centre courts on Sunday.

In girls’ section matches, New Diamond defeated Bhanubhakta School in straight sets of 25-10, 26-7, while Aruni School outplayed Gulmi District Volleyball Association 25-15, 25-21.

In boys’ section, Sacred Heart Boarding School beat Guranse Youth Club 25-23, 25-13, Bungtang Volleyball Commission defeated Namuna English School 25-12, 25-20, Three Star Academy outplayed Himchuli Academy 25-7, 25-11, and Surkhet Volleyball Association registered a 25-15, 25-23 victory over Angels Heart School. A total of 39 teams are taking part in the tournament organised by Nepal School Volleyball Commission. Top three teams in both the sections will receive Rs 100,000, Rs 60,000 and Rs 35,000 respectively.
