KATHMANDU, JUNE 29

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 636,916 on Tuesday with 1,728 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 592,535 with 4,348 people discharged today.

With the latest additions, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll stands at 9,071 with 20 fatalities recorded today.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, 11,748 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 7,259 were PCR tests while 4,459 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3,336,946 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 908 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 2,636.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 93 %, while on the other hand the fatality rate stands at 1.5%.

The country's active Covid-19 case count has dropped to 35,310 with daily recoveries exceeding daily infections.

In the same time frame, 302 infections were reported in the capital city while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 100 and 56 cases respectively.

So far, a total of 3,354,095 people have received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 2,599,553 have received the first dose while only 754,542 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.

Currently, there are 338 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Monday, Nepal's coronavirus case count had reached 635,188 with 1,509 more people testing positive for the infection.

Globally, over 182 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 3.9 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 166 million people have recovered while more than 11 million cases are still active.
