Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 769,271 on Sunday with 976 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 727,185 with 1,534 discharges logged today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 10,838 with 20 more fatalities.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, 7,971 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 5,170 were PCR tests while 2,801 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3,958,112 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 113 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 1,089.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 94.5%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.5%. The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 31,248.

Currently, there are 266 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

In the same time frame, 288 infections were reported in the capital city while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 98 and 67 cases respectively.

On Saturday, Nepal's coronavirus caseload had reached 768,295 with 1,024 people testing positive for the infection.

Globally, over 221 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.5 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 197 million people have recovered while more than 18 million cases are still active.
