BANGKOK: Over 100 people in northeastern Thailand have been hospitalised over the past week with food poisoning after eating crickets, a doctor said on Saturday. BEIJING: Fourteen miners were trapped in an underground coal mine in northern China’s Shanxi province in an accident likely to have been related to a gas leak, state media said on Saturday. The incident occurred on Friday at Hougou Colliery, located in Linfen. — AFP
Rebels surrender
YANGON: More than 300 members of a former ethnic rebel army in Myanmar’s Shan state have surrendered their weapons, 10 years after signing a ceasefire with the military rulers, state media said on Saturday. Some 325 members of the 19th brigade of the Shan State National Army on Friday handed in their weapons. — AFP
