13-year-old boy shot dead in Janakpur as police open fire during curfew

JANAKPURDHAM: A 13-year-old boy died on the spot as security personnel opened fire on a group of boys who had defied curfew and gathered behind the Vishwakarma Temple at Janakpur-14 on Friday later afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Dilip Yadav of Arerewa Tol of Sinaujor VDC.

It has been learned that Yadav was temporarily residing in a rented room in the neighbourhood of temple for his studies.

As police started firing, other boys managed to escape, according to eyewitnesses.

Earlier in the afternoon, two persons were shot dead during violent protests in Janakpur.
