KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 1

President Ramchandra Paudel has instructed the President of the Chure-Tarai Madhesh Conservation Development Committee to take action towards finding a sustainable way for the conservation of the Chure region.

During a meeting with Committee office-bearers at the Office of the President, Shital Niwas, on Friday, the President insisted on taking necessary actions to address persistent challenges facing Chure conservation.

Expressing his concerns over the potential crisis due to Chure degradation, the Head of State was of the view that the existing measures for its conservation were meager for achieving long-term success, according to President's press advisor Kiran Pokhrel.

He emphasized the need to prevent landslides, manage river scour, promote a greenery campaign, and improve settlements in the course of Chure preservation efforts. He stated that the State should act towards that end by implementing a wider plan.
