President Ramchandra Paudel stated that the government is actively working to ensure that the people feel the presence of a democratic state.

During a meeting with earthquake-affected people from Rukum Paschim on Tuesday, President Paudel emphasized that the state's mechanisms are fully engaged in assisting those affected by the disaster.

He reassured the public not to panic, as the government is focused on rehabilitating earthquake survivors and providing them with necessary facilities. The President directed that relief, temporary housing, and the health of quake survivors be given top priority.

During the meeting, Chief District Officer Hari Prasad Panta provided President Paudel with an overview of the loss of lives and physical property, as well as the immediate needs of the district.

The earthquake, which measured 6.4 on the Richter scale and occurred at 11:47 pm on Friday with its epicenter in Jajarkot, resulted in significant casualties and property damage in Jajarkot and Rukum Paschim districts of the Karnali Province.

In Rukum Paschim district alone, 52 people lost their lives, and 16,570 houses suffered complete damages."
