Disaster-related death toll rises to 239

KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 5

The death toll from the recent late monsoon-induced disasters has reached 239.

To date, 239 fatalities have been confirmed, with 18 individuals still missing following last week's floods and landslides.

A total of 178 people sustained injuries in the disaster, according to Rishiram Tiwari, spokesperson for the Ministry of Home Affairs.

In response efforts, 17,120 individuals have been rescued from flood- and landslide-affected areas, while relief support is being mobilized for survivors.

Additionally, work is underway to repair highways and roads damaged by the disaster, Tiwari added.
