Kathmandu, January 14

President of Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), Bhaban Bhatta, has purchased the Boeing 757-200 aircraft of Nepal Airlines (NA).

As per sources, Bhatta has purchased the long-grounded Nepal Airlines’ Boeing aircraft for Rs 146 million.

“As per our earlier plan, we have transferred the ownership of Boeing 757-200 from Nepal Airlines to BB Airways,” Sishir Bhatta, a board member of BB Airways, informed The Himalayan Times.

NRNA President Bhatta, a few months back, had submitted Rs 1.5 million in advance to Nepal Airlines to purchase the aircraft. Meanwhile, Nepal Airlines had threatened to

confiscate the advance amount as Bhatta had not submitted the remaining money.

Sources at BB Airways informed that the company plans to repair the grounded Boeing aircraft and start international flights to destinations like Malaysia, Bangkok, Delhi and Doha, among others.
