Dhading gets electricity

Kathmandu, November 28:

Shiv Shankar Mukherjee, Indian envoy to Nepal, today inaugurated Solar Electrification Project in Katunje-2 of Dhading District. the project was formally handed over to the Gaon Upbhokta Samiti of the village, states a press release issued here by the Indian Embassy. The handing over ceremony was held amidst a gathering of community leaders and government officials.

The Rs 16 million project was executed by the Central Electronics Ltd, a public sector undertaking of the Indian government, in partnership with the alternative Energy Promotion Centre (APEC), under the Ministry of Science and Technology of the government of Nepal.

The project involves the provision of a solar panel, a maintenance free battery and a home lighting system of 75 watts. “As a result, 300 homes in Katunje-2 village can receive electricity.”
