Gold retreats from recent peak as silver continues historic rally

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 7

Gold price declined by Rs 400 per tola in the domestic market on Wednesday, moving further away from the all-time high of Rs 270,600 per tola recorded on December 28.

With the drop, gold is being traded at Rs 267,700 per tola, down from Rs 268,100 per tola on Tuesday, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association.

In contrast, silver price continued its upward trend, rising by Rs 55 per tola on Wednesday. Silver is now being traded at a historic high of Rs 4,935 per tola, up from Rs 4,880 per tola on Tuesday, and edging closer to the Rs 5,000 threshold in the domestic market.
