The domestic gold market has hit yet another milestone, reaching a new record high after surging by Rs 2,000 per tola on Tuesday. This comes after a comparable increase on Sunday. Although the price held steady on Monday, it once again surged on Tuesday.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association (FeNeGoSiDA), fine gold is now trading at Rs 123,000 per tola, marking a significant rise from Monday's rate of Rs 121,000 per tola.
This surge marks the latest peak since the previous record high of Rs 122,000 per tola reached on December 28. The month of Falgun commenced with gold priced at Rs 117,700 per tola, witnessing a temporary dip to Rs 116,500 per tola before steadily climbing with minor fluctuations to achieve today's unprecedented rate.
Similarly, tejabi gold is currently trading at Rs 122,400 per tola, up from Rs 120,400 per tola on Monday.
In tandem with the gold market, the silver market also experienced a notable increase, with prices now at Rs 1,445 per tola, up Rs 35 per tola from Monday's rate of Rs 1,410 per tola.
