KATHMANDU, MAY 6
The price of gold rose sharply by Rs 5,300 per tola on Tuesday, continuing a trend of volatility in the domestic market. This follows a more modest increase of Rs 500 per tola on Monday.
With the latest surge, fine gold is now being traded at Rs 189,900 per tola, up from Rs 184,600 the previous day, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association.
Silver prices have also increased, rising by Rs 55 per tola. Silver, which was priced at Rs 1,910 per tola on Monday, is now being traded at Rs 1,965 per tola.
