KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 9
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), the sole secondary index of the country, continued its decline on the third trading day, with a drop of 19.06 points or 0.99 percent on Tuesday.
Similarly, the sensitive index, which assesses the performance of class 'A' stocks, also saw a decline of 0.94 percent, losing 3.45 points to settle at 361.31 points. Additionally, the float index, which reflects the performance of actively traded shares, experienced a drop of 1.04 percent, losing 1.34 points and ending the day at 131.12 points.
The benchmark index, which opened at 1908.29 points in the morning, briefly gained some ground, reaching 1912.61 points before undergoing a continued decline, closing at 1889.59 points.
In today's trading session, all the sub-indices were in negative territory, with the hydropower index leading the decliners with a 1.79 percent drop, followed by the Non-life insurance index with a 1.69 percent loss, and the hotel and tourism index with a 1.58 percent decrease.
A total of 4,287,424 units of shares of 282 companies were traded through 44,069 transactions for a total of Rs 1.283 billion.
The total market capitalization on Tuesday was Rs 2.882 trillion.
