KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 13

Prime Minister Sushila Karki has directed the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) authorities to promptly bring back the engine of the A-320 aircraft, currently in Israel, to resume operations using the aircraft.

During a meeting today with the NAC board of directors and management officials at Singha Durbar, Prime Minister Karki expressed her concern over the practice of leaving the aircraft engine idle in Israel while a rented engine is being used for its operation, describing such irregularities as unacceptable.

"Our engine is merely sitting idle while the cost of renting continues to escalate," she remarked.

She stressed that no procedural justification should be allowed for such situations and that publicly funded institutions must not be rendered inoperative.

Prime Minister Karki also urged decisiveness in favor of the nation, its citizens, and the institution.

The meeting was attended by Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal, Chief Secretary Ekanarayan Aryal, Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Hari Prasad Mainali, NAC Chair Bikram Rai, and Acting General Manager Jankaraj Kalakheti, among others.
