KATHMANDU, APRIL 27
The government has collected Rs 6.42 billion in revenue from the Rasuwagadhi Customs point during the first nine months of the current fiscal year.
According to the Rasuwa Customs Office, goods worth Rs 31.3 billion were imported through the Rasuwagadhi border, a key trade route between Nepal and China.
Customs Chief Tulsi Prasad Bhattarai said imports included textiles, ready-made garments, electric vehicles, hydropower and infrastructure materials, industrial machinery, and equipment for the fast track project. Food items such as apples and garlic were also imported in significant quantities.
In contrast, Nepal exported goods worth around Rs 6.5 million to China, including handicrafts, traditional garments, bamboo products, dry grass, rice and biscuits.
Trade at the point had been disrupted after floods destroyed the Miteri Bridge in July 2025. Regular import and export operations resumed only from December 2, 2025, following reconstruction of the bridge.
