KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 9

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 774,587 on Tuesday with 1,058 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 735,006 with 1,845 discharges logged today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 10,903 with 14 more fatalities.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, 11,944 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 8,898 were PCR tests while 3,046 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3,999,497 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 213 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 1,271.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 94.9%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.5%.

The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 28,678.

Currently, there are 261 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

In the same time frame, 329 infections were reported in the capital city while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 67 and 37 cases respectively.

Globally, over 223 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.6 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 199 million people have recovered while more than 18 million cases are still active.
