KATHMANDU, AUGUST 28
Cambridge International Education has released the June 2025 exam results, marking a global milestone with over 680,000 students receiving grades - a 9% increase from last year. In Nepal, more than 4,000 students appeared for Cambridge International AS & A Level exams, reflecting a 4% rise in entries compared to June 2024.
According to Cambridge, there were over 9,600 exam entries in Nepal this year across Cambridge IGCSE, O Level, and AS & A Level qualifications. The most popular subjects among Nepali students included Mathematics, Physics, English General Paper, Chemistry, and Computer Science.
"Parents in Nepal are increasingly valuing education that prepares students as global citizens," said Vinay Sharma, Senior Vice President for International Education in South Asia. He added that the growing uptake highlights the trust in Cambridge's rigorous and internationally recognised curriculum.
Globally, entries for the June 2025 series reached nearly 1.7 million, a 7% rise on last year. Over the past five years, Cambridge has recorded a 38% growth in schools making exam entries and a 74% increase in overall entries.
With more than 160 years of experience in assessment, Cambridge now works with nearly two million learners annually across 149 countries. In Nepal, its qualifications are seen as gateways to top universities and future-focused careers.
"The rising number of students taking Cambridge exams reflects the growing aspiration among Nepali parents and learners for world-class education," said Satyajit Sarkar, Senior Manager for International Education in South Asia.
