AROUND TOWN

KATHMANDU: Another new year, new beginnings, new ventures... a number of interesting new events have already been planned for the city’s denizens to enjoy this brand new year.

The 38th solo painting exhibition by award-winning artist from Bangladesh Mohammad Eunus is being held at the Nepal Art Council Gallery, Baber Mahal, from January 3-9.

The exhibition organised by the Nepal Art Council and Art Club, Bangladesh, displays some of Eunus’ best works.

Cruising on another voyage that demands dedication and social consciousness, the nation’s popular band Nepathya will be performing the second of its series of concert titled ‘Nepathya for All’ at Child Protection Centres and Services on January 4. This concerted is being held for the street children of Kathmandu and organisers expect more than 700 children to enjoy the musical magic that only Nepathya can create.

‘Nepathya for All’ is a series dedicated to reach the mass that would otherwise be left alone from attending concert shows due to various reasons — physical, mental, social. (Entry to the show is by invitation only)

The city will wake up another art exhibition on January 5 (inauguration at 5pm) . This time around it will be six artists from Tibet who will be displaying their work at the Siddhartha Art Gallery, Baber Mahal Revisited, to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and China. The exhibition is on till January 11. Folks, saunter down to the Baber Mahal one January afternoon and enjoy what the artists have put up for your pleasure.
