Australian Maritime College

delivers internationally recognised standards of excellence at its two campuses located in Tasmania. Newnham Campus, at Launceston, hosts the College Administration, and the departments of Maritime Engineering, Business and Operations. Beauty Point Campus, located 50 km north of Launceston, near the head of the Tamar River, houses programmes in Fisheries, Marine Environment and the Centre for Vessel Operations. Admission Welcome to the Australian Maritime College. To make it easier for you to apply we have divided the website according to the different categories of prospective students. Under each category you will find all the appropriate information you will need to apply to study at the AMC. Note that some courses at the AMC allows you to study through Distance Education. Studying through Distance Education you study from home in your own country (no visa required) and in your own time. To apply you need to follow the same procedures as described below, but without having to apply for a visa if you are an international student.

Full fee paying student Full fee paying postgraduate students will be charged course fees each semester for the units in which they are enrolled. Fee-HELP is available for domestic students (replaces PELS). Overseas students are required to pay course fees as per their Letter of Offer. A range of scholarships is offered for present and intending AMC students studying at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Accommodation AMC provides catered accommodation at both its Newnham (Launceston) (Investigator Hall) and Beauty Point (Endeavour Hall) Campuses. We recognise the requirement of residents to be housed in accommodation in which they feel safe, accepted and comfortable. An environment that allows them adequate opportunity for both rest and study plus social, recreational and sporting interaction are our priority. Meals are provided, with resident’s having the right to opt for a minimum of 10 meals per week.
