KATHMANDU, JUNE 16

CPN Maoist Centre Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba have directed their party leaders and cadres to engage in search, rescue and relief of the people affected by floods and landslides in various parts of the country, on Wednesday.

Issuing a press release today, Dahal urged his party's leaders and cadres to support authorities with various operations in the disaster-struck areas.

Dahal also appealed to the federal, provincial and local governments to launch immediate rescue and search operations and effective relief works while working for a long-term solution to the problems of floods and landslides recurring every year.

He also thanked all stakeholders involved in the search and rescue operation in the affected areas.

Dahal further demanded compensation to the families of the people who were killed in the disasters as well as free treatment of the injured.

Similarly, NC President Deuba also directed all party leaders and cadres to involve in the rescue works and provide relief to those affected in their respective areas during these trying times.

Taking to Twitter, Deuba said that floods and landslides due to the incessant rainfall for few days have caused havoc in various parts of the country especially in Sindhupalchowk and Manang.

Former PM Deuba has also demanded the government to rescue and move the affected people to secure locations and announce necessary relief package.
