KATHMANDU, AUGUST 1

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) has forecast generally cloudy conditions across the country today. According to the DHM, moderate rain will be accompanied by thunder and lightning likely in many places of Koshi, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim Provinces, including the hilly regions. Other parts of the country are also expected to see rain at some locations.

For tonight, DHM predicts generally cloudy skies nationwide, with moderate rain likely in many areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces, particularly in the hilly regions. There is also a possibility of heavy rainfall at one or two places in the hilly areas of Bagmati Province.

Meteorological analysis indicates that monsoon winds are currently active across the country. The monsoon trough is situated slightly north of its average position. It is expected to remain close to Nepal's Tarai region in the coming days, making monsoon activity more intense, especially in Madhesh Province and other areas.

According to DHM, Kathmandu Valley will experience generally cloudy weather with rain this afternoon, with maximum temperatures between 27°C and 29°C and a 6% chance of rain. At night, the valley is likely to remain cloudy with light rain, temperatures between 20°C and 22°C, and a 40% chance of rain.
