He fainted after heavy bleeding and was rushed by protesters to Teaching Hospital, where he underwent surgery in the ICU. Doctors stitched torn nerves in his thigh but left a bullet inside, as removing it would require another major operation.
Now a Grade 12 student at Kathmandu Sikshya Campus, Keshav struggles to walk. His family from Bajura faces financial hardship, with his father also hospitalized for a heart condition. “Every year we went home for Dashain, but this time I cannot walk properly—it’s a very sad Dashain for me,” he says. Despite some personal support, his recovery and future remain uncertain.
