The Federal Democratic Front leaders expressed their condolences on Friday following the Air India crash in Ahmedabad.

The London-bound Boeing 787 collided with a medical college hostel in a residential area of the northwestern city of Ahmedabad minutes after takeoff Thursday, killing 241 people on board and at least 29 on the ground. One passenger survived.

On Friday, the Federal Democratic Front meeting, chaired by Rajendra Mahato, held at the central office of the Rastriya Mukti Party, Nepal, Shantinagar, expressed deep sorrow over the unthinkable incident of an Air India plane crash near Ahmedabad, India, on Thursday.

Anil Mahaseth, a member of the Party's Political Committee, told THT that the meeting paid heartfelt tribute to the departed souls who died in the accident and expressed condolences to the bereaved families.

According to Mahaseth, the meeting also decided to take suggestions from all of the Front's constituent parties and finalise the work procedure before submitting it for approval at the next Front meeting.

"We decided to work on the issue of indigenous peoples, and the Front's Secretariat decided to proceed with the dialogue for cooperation," Mahaseth stated.

"We also decided to investigate the visit visa scam, expose the truth, and call for strict action against the criminals involved in human trafficking and corruption."

The meeting of the Front was attended by Raendra Mahato, president of the Rastriya Mukti Party; Mahantha Thakur, president of the Loktantrik Samajwadi Party, Nepal; Upendra Yadav, Janata Samajwadi Party, Nepal; among others.
