KATHMANDU, MAY 27
Preliminary hearing on 19 writ petitions demanding an interim order against the dissolution of House of Representatives has begun in the Supreme Court.
The advocates that had filed the writs have been accorded limited time to debate. They are now presenting their cases at the Apex Court.
Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana had assigned all the 19 writs to his single bench for legal proceeding.
Along with the aforementioned writs, 11 more petitions have been filed at the SC against government's move to dissolve House, which will be heard on Friday by the Constitutional Bench.
The five-member bench will be led by the Chief Justice.
Today's session will decide whether or not the 19 writs will be sent to Constitutional Bench, to join the 11 others to be heard jointly.
