Kidnappers held

Kathmandu District Police Office have arrested six persons on charges of kidnapping Santaman Shrestha and his son Subash Shrestha from Gothatar, Kathmandu.

Santaman is an employee at the Royal Nepal Airlines Coorporation (RNAC), police said. According to police, six persons kidnapped the father-son duo from its residence and took the two to Lakpa Hotel at Lainchaur on Monday .

The gang used a taxi with plate number Ba 1 Ja 7411 to ferry the two. They were released on condition that Shrestha would pay a ransom of Rs 1,600,000 within a few days.

The police today managed to arrest the six on the basis of information the Shrestha duo provided. Pawan Ale and Manoj Ale and taxi driver Ram Bahadur Thapa are among those arrested.

Four held with fake pistol:

Kathmandu: Ward Police Office Singhadurbar arrested four persons with a fake pistol at Maitidevi yesterday. Police arrested them while they were in a cab with the pistol. The four include Bigyan Shrestha, 27, Jeevan Shrestha, 23, Kiran Manandhar, 23, and Ranak Khadka, 20, according to the police.
