MFD forecasts light rainfall for three days

The country’s weather system has been disturbed by a system produced by the westerly wind entering Nepal through the far-western region since yesterday.

According to Meteorological Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Kathmandu Valley’s weather system will worsen as there is a chance of light rain of up to 3 to 4 mm daily from tonight.

“In Kathmandu, the system may become more active and cause light rain in the Valley until Sunday afternoon,” Meteorologist Barun Paudel told The Himalayan Times, “There is also a chance of light to moderate rainfall in the hilly region and snow fall in the high mountain ranges.”

Paudel said the system is heavy and active, which will cause rainfall for three days.

The MFD has forecast generally cloudy weather for the western region, and partly cloudy weather in the eastern and central hilly regions for tonight. Similarly, it said light to moderate rainfall was possible at one or two places of the central and western regions of the country.

Likewise, the weather is forecast to remain generally cloudy throughout the country tomorrow, while light to moderate rain is possible at some places of the central and western regions, and an brief rainfall is possible at one or two places of the eastern region.

The MFD has forecast generally cloudy weather with a chance of light to moderate snowfall for the western mountain region, cloudy with chances of light to moderate snowfall for central mountain region, and generally cloudy with chances of light snowfall for eastern mountain region for tomorrow.
